MEET THE FOUNDER

Dear family, friends and the good people of Canada:

My name is Alfredine (Linda) Plourde. I was born in Bathurst New-Brunswick (French Acadian) I am the Founder and author of Protecting Canadian Children.

“CHILDREN ARE DYING” are the words which began my journey with PCC and motivated me to research the “Child Welfare System.” It is my belief that if you see or know of an injustice, and you do not act, you are a participant.  I AM NO PARTICIPANT! 

When I learned the numbers of children dying in care, real hurt and anger grew in me because I thought this cannot be right. When I discovered they were one of the most powerful organizations in the world, I was an emotional wreck.  How do we escape so much power? 

Protecting Canadian Children is not about politics or prestige but it about the power of love for our children and humanity.  

Meet Samantha – My Little Angel

This little angel figured out how to have the last word through me.  Meet my little heavenly guiding angel, Samantha Martin.

In 2009 after years of frustrations and waking up most morning thinking that no one cares what was happening to children in this country, I decided with a sick feeling inside my stomach to write emails to all my friends giving them my final notice that I was quitting Protecting Canadian Children.  I thought that no-one cares what was happening to children in this country, that I was crazy to think I could get people to listen or care.  

When I was ready to send the emails “out of the blue” my computer blacked out and this little girl inexplicably appeared on my screen. I just couldn’t take my eyes of her – I was mesmerized. It was like she was talking to me personally. I was wondering who she was and could not stop staring at her big blue eyes and the big, nasty bruises on her face.

After a long pause I searched the net.  I came across her picture and I saw her name. I started to look for people that carried her last name and their phone number.  The first call I make was to her mother. That was a phone call I will never forget! Believing in God and angels, I knew this little angel delivered a message from God. She brought many gifts to my life and her spirit is all around me. 

Since then, parents from all walks of life right across Canada are coming up together to bring much needed awareness of the heinous crimes committed under the Child Protective Services.
